From registration to scheduling and league structure, you’ll find everything you need to understand how OQBL operates and what to expect throughout the season. Q. Do I need my own facility to join the league?

A. As a participating team you will be required to host games throughout the season, having a host facility will allow you the freedom to do that. If you are not able to get access to a facility, then please let us know on your registration form if you do not have access. 

 

Q. Where can we expect to travel throughout the season?

A. Travel depends on what teams join for the season, however you can usually expect to travel throughout Eastern Ontario, and Montreal, Quebec. You should make sure that your parents know and expect travel in both provinces. We will try our best to schedule games on weekends, however teams with access to a facility during the week may plan with another local team.

 

Q. How many games can we expect to play?

A. You can expect to play approximately between 10-12 games per season (not including playoffs).

 

Q. Can I put in multiple teams?

A. Yes, in fact we offer a multi team discount!

 

Q. When are payments due?

A. All payments must be in before December of the sign up year. For example is you register September 2026, all payments must be in before December 1, 2026. 

 

Q. Do we book our own officials if we're hosting a game?

A. No, the OQBL league will be responsible for booking officials in either Ontario or Quebec throughout the season, however if a game is re-schedule the league must be notified with enough time to book officials. 

 

Q. Can we reschedule games?

A. Please see our rules and regulations regarding rescheduling and post-poning games and the fines associated with it. 

 

Q. Will we have say in the schedule?

A. All teams and league organizers will meet prior to the fall to establish the schedule together. 

 

Q. Do you keep stats?

A. Yes, please be prepared to have enough volunteers at your table to record points, stats, work the scoreboard and shot clock (no shot clock for U13). We encourage you to have volunteers that are professional and take the stat recording seriously, we will not tolerate boosting stats.
