The Ontario Quebec Basketball League (OQBL)  with a shared vision: to create a competitive, structured, and fresh AAA-level basketball league in the Ottawa, Cornwall, and Montreal West regions. Recognizing the need for consistent, high-level competition close to home, the founders came together to offer players a platform that limits travel costs, fosters community ties across provinces, and challenges athletes to develop and showcase their skills in a professional environment.

Launching with a pilot season in September 2025, the OQBL will feature several divisions, with teams playing multiple games against each other in a balanced home-and-away schedule. Each organization hosts game days, ensuring fair play and accessible venues, while following FIBA-based rules. As the OQBL grows, the focus remains on providing elite competition, fostering strong team communities, and giving players the exposure and development opportunities they deserve.
